Not long ago Rurouni Kenshin started hitting Blu-ray thanks to Aniplex. With a simultaneous release between Japan and America, Aniplex definitely had something special going with the release. The first OVA, Trust & Betrayal was a success and it was totally worth picking up. It stands to reason that the second, Reflection, should receive the same praise.
Fairy Tail has arrived ladies and gentlemen! The popular series has finally made its U.S. debut thanks to FUNimation. This first release, of many more to come, features episodes one through twelve on two DVDs. Is the anime everything it was hyped up to be? Or is it just another shonen show?
Everyone loves a good vampire story, right? I mean, vampires are all the rave these days. Thankfully FUNimation’s latest release doesn’t show glistening vampires wooing underage girls ala Twilight. Instead Higanjima: Escape from Vampire Island features a small Japanese island overrun by the blood-thirsty undead.
It’s hard to believe that Trigun came out in 1998. I mean, 13 years ago? It feels like it was much longer than that! Then again, that’s what happens when you get old. In the anime world, however, thirteen is a lucky number apparently. Despite the fact that the series has been off the map for a while (sure it’s been around and popular with the fans, but still) the franchise actually got a movie release in 2010.
One of the most talked about shows from last season was also one with a lot of controversy. From pirated streaming that left ANN fumbling to fix their net security to content that simply was more otaku than mainstream, Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo for short) definitely hit the scene with some notoriety. Does that mean it’s any good though?

FUNimation Entertainment announced today at Ohayocon that it has acquired the broadcast, home entertainment, merchandising, mobile and streaming rights to the anime series, HAGANAI (Boku wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai).
