Okay, I realize that this particular figure preview isn’t necessarily anime related, but it’s from an anime figure publisher and it’s available for import from Japan, so in my mind that makes it find to post. And this is my blog, so :-p.
Long before I was into anime, I loved all things science fiction and fantasy. To that end Luis Royo was always one of my favorite fantasy artists, right up there with Boris Vallejo and the like. Of the many works of Royo’s that have been featured out there, Black Tinkerbell was arguably one of my favorite. When Yamato Toys announced they were releasing a figure of it I simply knew I had to post about it.
One of Yamato’s lineups that often goes ignored by the anime world, since it’s really not a part of it, is the Fantasy Figure Gallery. There’s some stunning works there that any fan of fantasy artwork (like myself) should definitely check out.
As you can tell already from the features of this figure, the details are quite stunning. She’s perched in exactly the same manner as she was in Royo’s original painting, and to top it all off her wings are translucent in light. Tinkerbell herself measures about 6 inches and with her base the figure winds up hitting 11.25 up to her wingspan. Apparently these puppies are going to be limited in number with only about 3,000 pieces in circulation, so if you’re like me and adore Royo’s work you’ll want to consider this pre-order quickly.
This figure is currently available through Yamato USA.
